SCAFFOLD HOIST / BUILDERS HOIST

During this editorial we will examine what a scaffold hoist is, what it is used for, by whom and more significantly why scaffold hoists are used today.

Scaffold hoists, sometimes called builders hoists are usually seen on building / construction sites, and sometimes in large warehouses. Scaffold hoists are most commonly used by builders, roofers. Scaffold hoists are powered machines which are used for lifting and lowering materials to varying heights where the labourers require their tools for the job in hand. Scaffold hoists / builders hoists come with varying lengths of wire rope depending on what height of lift you require, and differing lift speeds, allowing you to choose one that will suit your needs.

Scaffold hoists usually clamp to a scaffold pole in a place to suit you, and can be moved to different locations easily enough, but they can also be attached to a prop, or gantry, and some models are just hooked over a scaffold pole. One of the main advantages of a scaffold hoist to a builder is the accessories that go with it, of which there are many, including wheel barrow chains allowing you to lift the whole wheelbarrow full of materials, mortar buckets, rubbish chutes, small skip chains, counterweight baskets and more.

Builders and construction workers should use scaffold hoists wherever possible, as it not only provides a more economical working environment but most importantly a safer one.

A third of construction accidents and injuries involve lifting and manoeuvring heavy and awkward loads, also many construction workers and builders have time off for back and neck pain, again often caused by repeatedly lifting heavy objects and by constantly going up and down scaffolding, all this can be greatly reduced by using a scaffold hoist.

Cost efficiency is a must for all construction companies and builders, often competing for the same job, using a scaffold hoist can reduce cost effectively, as it is much faster to haul materials up a scaffold tower with a hoist than it is for a worker to carry the materials up manually, saving valuable time and possibly less man power. By using a scaffold hoist it can also reduce costs as workers are much less likely to require time off for injuries, and much less risk of possible insurance claims.

So if you are deciding whether a scaffold hoist will assist your building / construction, or roofing business then with all the above in mind the answer must be yes, saving you time, manpower and money but most importantly the safety of your workers.
